Your wedding will pass in a blur..
Your photographs won’t.
Your wedding day will pass in a beautiful blur.
And when the cake’s all been eaten, and the flowers have wilted - the photographs are what you’ll hold onto forever, on your 50th wedding anniversary with the grandkids on your knee…
I’m here for the moments you’ll want back in 30 years.
You should know something about me from the start: I’m soppy.
I’ll probably cry at your wedding. I love photos a mother would love - when you laugh too big. When your other half looks at you like you’re the greatest thing ever, while you’re just chatting away to someone else. All your friends and family that are there to have that day with you. The kids, the grandparents, Dad’s emotional speech, and Mum’s look of “look at my baby getting married - where did that time go???”.
So - it’s a privilege. A joy. An honour to even be considered to be part of that. And I do everything I can to bring that into my photography for you, your parents and the grandkids that aren’t even a twinkle in your eye just yet. ;)
For the Decision Makers
Decisions are normally made based on the style of photography, the price, or the photography itself.
So I’m just going to lay it all out for you below. And if you’d like to know more, there’s a downloadable Welcome Pack that goes into more detail.
My approach
It’s about you guys, not me.
I’m here to roll with your day. So if you want to do portraits straight after the wedding - cool. If you want to relax and chill with your guests and do it later? Also cool. Got a favourite location you’d like some shots taken in? Great. If you want me to take a look around and find some good spots - also, not a problem.
80% ORGANIC DOCUMENTARY
The real moments. As unscripted as possible for most of the day. Just what’s unfolding, the details you spent months choosing… and people are more relaxed when they don’t know you’re photographing them! ;)
20% SIMPLE GUIDANCE
Gentle direction when it’s required - and lots of simple prompts so it doesn’t feel forced or stiff. Occassionally, I’ll stand and just stare akwardly until you laugh. Trust me, that works too. lol.
COMPLETELY PERSONALISED
Whether you want more portraits, more group shots, more time with your family and friends - or just some quiet time to chill on your big day - I’m flexable. It’s YOUR day, it needs to reflect you.
A few of my favourite
I LOVE black and white. A big part of your gallery will be that. I also love adding grain. Some will be tack-sharp. Some will be a little blurry - almost like you could step back into that moment like it’s not fully complete. I love shooting through things - flowers, mirrors, reflections. Some will be focusing on you, and the rest will be out of focus. Some will be sharp all the way through. But these are a pretty good cross-section of what you can expect from me. Close-ups. Wide shots. You. Family. Great Aunt Matilda. Silliness. Details. A cool tree that was at the location. Straight shots. Arty shots. I’m aiming to bottle, to put in a time capsule, the feeling of the moment.
favourite
moments.
I have a small problem… it’s hard to choose favourites! I love looking back over my photos - not cos I took them, but just because I remember how awesome each day was and how happy every couple was. What a true blessing to be able to take these photos!
I don’t want to do complicated. So here it is, simply.
Really me. No shoes on. Taken
by my niece who was a
bridesmaid on a wedding I shot.
Every photograph is real.
Every image has been photographed, selected and edited by me. I don’t use AI to choose your best moments or create photos that never happened.
I’ll remove distractions like power poles coming out of your head or my jandals that I left in the background (#guilty). Occasionally I will combine two real photos to capture the exact one where both you AND someone else aren’t blinking… but it’s the exception, not the norm.
And in today’s day and age of AI, I feel this is important. I’m a human, photographing other humans, and using tools to take out distractions, not create something that never existed.
Real moments. Real emotion. Minus the jandals…
Also - something else you should know about me…
You’ll find me half the day without shoes on… most weddings I’ve done have been fairly informal. I wear jeans because they’re practical and I can hang my camera on them.
I do, however, own some nice clothes and high heels… so I can dress appropriately for the occasion. ;) I’ll make sure to check in with you what the appropriate dress code is before the big day.
